Roswell High School Track and Field

After the first day of prelims and some running and field event finals on Tuesday evening, the boys are leading the region competition over Alpharetta and North Forsyth, while the girls are currently in 4th place behind Alpharetta, North Forsyth and Milton.

A rarely accomplished feat occurred in the boys 1600 meter race and the girls 3200 meter race. In the boys 1600, both Drew Kelley and Charlie Sheridan bettered the school record established in 2011 with Drew placing 1st in 4:22.94 and Charlie finishing 3rd in 4:24.96. In the girls 3200, both Peyton Thomas and Erin Gant broke the school record established by Peyton earlier in the 2012 season. Peyton captured 3rd with a time of 11:26.09 (improving the record by over 12 seconds) and Erin Gant finished 4th in a time of 11:36.90. All 4 qualified to continue running at the Sectional meet.

Other Roswell athletes that qualified on Day 1 for the Sectional Meet at McEachern High School on 4/28 are: Obos Ikpefan and Grant Beidel in the boys triple jump and Taylor Green in the boys shot put.
