Roswell High School Track and Field

On a spectacular night for Track & Field competition on Thursday the boys team won the Region 6AAAAA title while the girls team placed 3rd.

The boys team dominated the field totaling an impressive 196 points easily outscoring second place Alpharetta by 83 points while North Forsyth placed 3rd. The boys scored in all 16 events, winning 8 events and breaking 3 school records.

The girls team finished in 3rd place behind a solid all around performance by the Alpharetta girls team while Milton finished in second. The girls also collected 2 school records during the meet.

Highlights of the Finals:

• On day 1 of the meet, 2 athletes in 2 events bettered the school record and in the girls 1600, it happened again. Both Morgan Green and Peyton Thomas finished faster than the previous record established in 1986. Morgan Green finished in 2nd with a time of 5:11.85 and Peyton Thomas placed 3rd in 5:13.76 each bettering the record of 5:17.80.

• Drew Kelley outran the field in the boys 3200 in a school record time of 9:35.83, improving the record established in 1983 by almost 4 seconds.

• The boys 4×400 relay team of Madison Evans, Tanner Hayes, Jonathan Garner and Obos Ikpefan re-established the school record they set earlier in the season, winning the event in a US First Team Elite time of 3:19.83
