Saturday brought almost 900 athletes representing 24 teams along with spectacular weather to the Roswell High School track for the 18th annual Roswell Rotary Relays.
The girls and boys teams preformed admirably against stiff competition with both teams finishing in 8th place. The girls champion was Mill Creek High School with Hillgrove placing 2nd and Woodstock 3rd. The boys winner was Marietta followed by Mill Creek in 2nd place with Hillgrove finishing 3rd.
Just prior to the boys 100 meter competition, the meet was paused for a brief ceremony honoring the memory of Jonathan Garner. The Garner family was welcomed to the infield as the boys 100 meter competition was officially recognized as the “Jonathan Garner 100 Meter Dash”. This year’s winner was Evan Berry of Creekside.
Congratulations to all of the competitors, volunteers and fans for making this year’s edition of the Roswell Relays another memorable success.
