Boys Crowned Fulton County Champions, Girls Finish in 2nd

16 boys and girls teams from across Fulton County competed across two days (Monday and Tuesday)of competition at Johns Creek High School to determine the best track teams in Fulton County.

After postponing the start of meet from Saturday due to inclement weather, the meet was rescheduled with girls field events and boys running finals on Monday and boys field events and girls running finals on Tuesday.

In synch with the consistent theme for the season, the weather was more appropriate for a mid winter event with temperatures in the upper 30’s to low 40’s and winds gusting in excess of 20 – 25 mph. Despite the adverse conditions, the Roswell athletes were more than capable of meeting the challenge.

The boys scored in 15 out 16 events totaling 119.5 points to outdistance second place Johns Creek by 29 points. The girls totaled 79 points finishing behind Westlake and ahead of Alpharetta and Johns Creek.

Congratulations to both the girls and boys teams on their outstanding performances and to all of the athletes for their individual contributions to an overall team effort.

Field event and some of the runners will leave school at 3:50 and the rest will leave at 4:45 on a county bus with Coach Evans.

The bus list will be posted on Wednesday.

The Fulton County Track & Field Championship scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.

The meet has been rescheduled to Monday and Tuesday. The girls field events and boys finals are scheduled for Monday with the boys field events and girls finals scheduled for Tuesday.

A detailed schedule will be sent later.

The Chattahoochee dual meet is still scheduled for Wednesday.
